Christine Klinger
When weather permits I may paint landscapes en plein air, so as to see and capture my impressions and the light. My themes are all Nature-oriented; painting, for me, is a meditation on Nature.
In my current, more abstract work, I am reveling in the spontaneity of painting. Each piece begins as a spark or an idea – something that intrigues or surprises me – but can evolve into something else as I work. These concepts come from a place in my subconscious, a place of mystery. I begin to understand them best when they are finished, when I can look for patterns in theme and style.
