Aaron Lifferth lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his wife Monica and their two children, Benjamin (4) and Maggie (2).  He attended the University of Utah where he studied under John Erickson and graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.

Aaron was invited to be an artist-in-residence during the summer of 2004 where he lived and painted in a renovated old hotel/brothel in historic mining town of Helper Utah.  While there he helped in cleaning and maintaining the building used for painting and drawing workshops taught by David Dornan and Paul Davis.  Between workshops Aaron and two other artists had the large old building to themselves to paint, and they did—sometimes until early in to the morning.  Rent was free and other concerns were minimized, allowing for an immersion into art work.  Outside the old building, in the surrounding area, he also found a picturesque landscape waiting to be painted.  That summer was pivotal for Aaron’s development.

In the spring of 2007 Aaron began showing his art on his personal blog.  He likes the accessibility and immediacy of small daily paintings which allow him to continually develop his art.
